I love baseball. I spent many years playing, umpiring, coaching, and watching the game. You can't begin to imagine my love for the game. So, it was a no brainer to do something along the lines of Babe Ruth for one of my still life light paintings.
George Herman Ruth Nicknamed "The Bambino" and "The Sultan of Swat", began his MLB career as a stellar left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, but achieved his greatest fame as a slugging outfielder for the New York Yankees belting a total of 714 home runs throughout his career.
I located several old props including a correct era split finger baseball glove similar to what Ruth used, the correct manufacturer baseball bat, and vintage baseball cleats, and light painted this in the studio. I set this up in the studio and used my personal developed technique of light painting and post editing to create the final image.
